Voting ........................

Got an unexpected off from office courtesy our assembly elections..so after exercising my fundamental right and taking some rest i tuned on my t.v. in order to get an election update.

Every news channel was showing some kind of a exit poll and was trying to convince the viewers about the authenticity of their exit polls and how only they are the one who has solved the puzzle...

So as the news channels were going on the board about their credibility and authenticity one small news which caught my attention was the polling percentage in all the three states and surprisingly the most troubled state of Arunachal showed the maximum voters turn out while a comparability safer Maharashtra has got the lowest voters turn out in the three states, so I tried to peruse that news more closely and to my surprise in Maharashtra the maximum voters turn out was recorded in the most deadly and troubled area of Gadchiroli where the people are constantly under the threats of naxalites, where people have minimum amenities and where you might have to pay the price of casting vote by giving your life.........on the other hand where we have all our "intellectuals" who attend different talk shows and participate in debates and chew each others brain on the various news channels who register their protest by writing columns in news papers the so called concerned citizens staying the place which is used as a synonym to good spirit our very own Mumbai recorded the lowest voters turn out....

After following the complete story and getting some additional information from the internet I just wondered "are these guys staying rural areas, troubled areas, are more concerned and responsible citizens than us? Have they understood the importance of their vote and the beauty of our democracy in better way than us? Though they dont participate in any of the talk shows, in any debates where these so called intellectuals, people like you and me participate and discuss any single topic for hours together...... but in my opinion they understand the power of casting their votes in a much better way than us...they have understood a simple fact that they hold the key to getting what they want in this democracy, they have understood that they can change the governments, they can topple the biggies sitting on their heads by just doing one simple thing and that is by casting their votes......

Really these are the guys on whose shoulders the burden of democracy is rested and who are fulfilling their responsibility by showing the faith in our democracy by casting their votes... long live these voters and long live our democracy.........
