Aahhh.................................. what a way to begin my day man... I think for me nothing can be better than meeting my best half early in the morning and getting charged up for rest of the day...So my Sunday began on a high note as we met and then went for the first show of "Three Idiots" and there met Mr. Wangdu unexpectedly... Mr. Funsung Wangdu who followed what his heart told him to do, who just loved to live in the present moment without thinking about the future, who just had an attitude of "live it now, its not gonna come back again" and believe me I fell in love with Mr. Wangdu[not in "..."sense ;)].........................
After thinking a lot [for rest of the day] about Mr. Wangdu, I have reached to a point, where I can say he is not a single person or just a character, but he is each one of us, he is in each of us, who drives us to follow our heart and not be mechanical, he is the one who tells one of my friend who inspite of being an MBA from one of the most premium institues in India to follow his passion and join London School of Economics one day....he is the one who drives my best half to persue her goal of Civil Services by rejecting lucritive job opportunities....he is the one who tells each one of us what we should do and not just what we are ought to do....he is the one who allows us to have a conversation with our own heart and mind... he is the one who tries to prevent us from getting to a situation of "Give me another chance" ...............
But not all of us let Mr. Wangdu within to come to surface and succum to "viruses" who every now and then try to dominate Mr. Wangdu by showing us the practicalities and the materialistic pleasures which they offer and yeah we easily fall prey to these viruses and our own Mr. Wangdu desparately and helplesslely puts down his weapons and gives away his control to these viruses....who then take the precaution of not letting him to come to surface again....and we land up in "give me another chance" situation but most of the people around us at the same time say "all is well" and, we without even asking our Mr. Wangdu, is it really a "all is well" situation blindly follow them and our Mr. Wangdu just smiles and keeps on reminding "all is not well" just by guiding us to "give me another chance".................
So I think whenever there is a "give me another chance" situation it is an red alert given to us by our very own Mr. Wangdu that, "dude all is not well do something about it" and then the choice is left with us to decide whether we listen to our very own Mr. Wangdu or we just follow people around us and blindly say "all is well"..................................................................
It was great meeting you Mr. Wangdu and am sure we will have regular meetings with each other hereafter....till then I sign off as "all is well".....................................................

ALL is WELLL!!! :)
ReplyDeleteBy far one of the best articles I have read on this hotly debated topic. Truly, is it that "All is well", or is it just an illusion? Will we ever be able to truly say "All is well" or will we continue to ask for that illusive 2nd chance to live again? Who is it that wins in us - The Rancho or the Chatur?
ReplyDeleteAnd beyond the portrayal of the free soul the movie had another message for us - what do we want to become? The Wangdu or the Virus? Who are we in reality - the man who gives freedom to free thoughts, who breaks all rules to understand nature, whose lust for knowledge is like an undisciplined thought wandering wherever there is the glow of knowledge or the man who hardens and disciplines thousands to run the rat race, who enforces rules to give a false sense of structure to life and prepares the unbridled minds to focus on the things that society deems important. Beyond living our own lives, we need to think what we want to teach our next generations...
awesome yaar... but it provokes to think otherwise as well, as soumen did!! its difficult to pen down you thoughts like u did...
ReplyDeleteThanx a lot all of you....your comments help me understand the other side of it thanx once again......
ReplyDeleteI dont want to say anything on this post...I just remember how you turn into Mr. Wangdu for me and give me that extra push that I need to go ahead....
ReplyDeleteI remember this quote i read somewhere :
'Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.'...
there is a part of you that puts you down and another part of you pulls you up.......As soumen righly said the question is who do we become....Wangdu or Chatur....
I oscillate between these two images and I think I am not alone..... We are all sailing in the same boat.....and just hoping that All izz well......
love
